the fight against Ebola

Today, the first group of NHS volunteers from the UK, has left to fight the latest outbreak against Ebola in Sierra Leone.

So far more than 5000 people have been killed in the current outbreak.  and there have been more than 15000 reported cases since the crisis began earlier this year.

It will continue and it highlights an urgent need for funding, support and attention to the plight of orphans in West Africa

Aid workers in West Africa say a shortage of food and supplies is making it difficult to care for children, and that fear is hampering efforts to place those who’ve lost parents to Ebola, even within their home countries.

The current figure is 7000 children, who have lost one or both parents to Ebola.

The statistics are grim, the numbers will increase and children will be forever scarred by this disease.
